Tommaso Barba, M.Sc.

Tommaso Barba is a researcher. With a background in psychology and psychoanalysis, Tommaso completed his Master of Research in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience from Maastricht University in August 2021. Since September 2020 he worked as a research intern at the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London focusing on several neuropsychopharmacological and basic science projects. His main focus was understanding the comparative effect of psilocybin vs escitalopram on rumination and suppression of disturbing intrusive thoughts in major depressive disorder under the supervision of Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris. He also coordinated an online survey study designed to build a comprehensive questionnaire assessing the acute effect of psychedelic drugs. Since January 2021 he joined the NHS CIPPRes (CNWL- Imperial Psychopharmacology & Psychedelic research) clinic team at St Charles hospital in London working on research projects focused on substance use disorders under the supervision of Dr. David Erritzoe.
