Paula Martinell Garcia pursued a scientific career in biology followed by a Masters degree in biochemistry and continued with the doctoral studies on theoretical biophysics at the Humboldt-University in Berlin. Synchronously to her academic trajectory, she engaged in the performative arts, developing as a largely self-taught acrobat and dancer. She is currently an active stage performer with base in Berlin, also an instructor on acrobatics and regular organizer of contemporary circus events. Together with her colleague and life-friend Ana Bulovic she created the contemporary dance-theater collective Not One Not Two, in which she is writer, co-producer and performer.

In the MIND Foundation she has found the space to bring together her tingling interest for science and art in a context which addresses the (for her) most fascinating subject in human existence: Consciousness
