Michael V. (“Mike”) Kramer is a PhD candidate in philosophy at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is currently working on a dissertation dedicated to analyzing aspects of psychedelic experience through the theoretical lens of phenomenological philosophy (specifically, utilizing the transcendental framework of Edmund Husserl and the existential framework of Maurice Merleau-Ponty), while also discussing how key conceptual issues in the philosophy of psychedelics can contribute to the discourse in phenomenology. He has recently presented on his dissertation project at the Psychedemia 2022 conference at the Ohio State University; at the Interdisciplinary Conference for Psychedelic Research (ICPR) 2022; for the Society for Phenomenology and the Human Sciences conference at Saint Louis University; and for the Phenomenology and Psychotherapy Colloquium at Universität Heidelberg. He is the Co-Speaker of the Philosophy Professional Section, alongside Felix Uhl. |
