Marco Aqil is a PhD student at the Spinoza Centre for Neuroimaging (Academic Medical Center) in Amsterdam, where he is studying the brain from a computational and mathematical perspective. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Physics from the University of Edinburgh, and a Master of Science in Mathematics, with a focus on Biomedical applications, from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is also the founder and board member of the Amsterdam Psychedelic Research Association (APRA), a non-profit, academic association of university students and researchers, dedicated to the scientific and medical aspects of psychedelics and other understudied substances and practices.
