Louise Tækker is a Danish clinical psychologist and PhD, working with refugees with PTSD and C-PTSD in OASIS – a Danish trauma treatment facility situated in the heart of Copenhagen.
OASIS has been functioning since 1987 and delivers interdisciplinary treatment with a holistic approach. The center combines psychotherapy with psychomotor therapy, social counselling, art therapy, and psychiatric counselling in 14 months treatment period. The treatment is individually planned for each client.
Louise and co-authors Merete Aasborg and Ditte B. Eriksen has been investigating whether MDMA assisted therapy for PTSD in the future could be adapted as a treatment option for OASIS’ very complex target group, who besides trauma from war and fleeing, also often also endures post-migration stress, financial strain, poor social networks, attachment issues and temporary residence permits. The investigation has focused on cultural aspects and the de-stabilization phase which the treatment can induce.
