Dr. Frederico Magalhaes, MMed

Frederico Magalhaes is a psychiatrist and psychedelic guide whose work has focused on the potential clinical applications of psychedelic medicine. His main areas of interest are the therapeutic frameworks and process of psychedelic therapy for people with mental health difficulties, the inherent challenges in this work, and the experiences of both participants and guides.

Frederico completed medical training at the University of Porto with a Masters Thesis on Mindfulness-based therapies. He specialised in Psychiatry in Oxford, where he is currently an NHS consultant psychiatrist and collaborates with the Oxford ketamine clinic on psychotherapeutic interventions. Frederico is a clinical research fellow with Imperial Centre for Psychedelic Research, as a study psychiatrist and psychedelic guide on depression an anorexia trials. He has collaborated with Kosmicare@Boom and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatry Psychedelics Working Group.
