Ewa is a post-doctoral researcher at the Neuroscience Research Center of the Charité Medical University in Berlin. She recently completed her PhD in Neurosciences, working on molecular mechanisms underlying autoimmune psychotic states. Her previous academic training includes BSc in Biotechnology at the Łódź University of Technology and a joint Masters Diploma in Neuroscience from: Free University of Amsterdam, University of Bordeaux and Charité Medical University. Her current research interests focus on different modalities inducing altered states of consciousness, such as psychedelics, meditation and breathwork, as potential treatment for mental health disorders. Apart from neurobiological approach, her interests also involve studying the lived experience of such states using micro-phenomenological analysis and its correlation to underlying neuronal activity. Ewa is an avid long-term meditator and is currently involved in a study of potential overlaps between the subjective phenomenology of psychedelic- and meditation-induced states.
