Integrating Science and Practice of Psychedelic States

INSIGHT 2019 provided a platform for discussion and cooperation between researchers, practitioners, and the public. Some of the leading questions were:

How can we shape a rational, evidence-based and legal future for the professional application of psychedelic states?

How can potential harms and ethical ambivalence be avoided?

What kind of practices can support potential benefits of psychedelic states?

The conference came with four tracks: Research, Therapy, Philosophy, and Public Health. Next to classic keynotes we also hosted expert panels, round tables with audience participation, poster sessions, opportunities for audience experimentation and a social program with art and music.

Round Table with Dr. Henrik Jungaberle, Prof. Dr. Matthias Liechti, Prof. Dr. Thomas Metzinger: Key Topics for the Re-Evaluation of Psychedelic States in Science, Therapy and Culture

The first of five moderated discussions that took place at INSIGHT 2019 will explore the larger picture of the current research on psychedelics and psychedelic states. Why is this new academic and non-academic research happening, who are the actors and which people, state institutions and non-academic organizations seek agency and influence? Questions will be raised that include clinical, scientific and cultural aspects.
