Artist Announcement

While we have many amazing speakers coming to share their research and knowledge on the field of academic psychedelic science, INSIGHT 2019 will also feature some talented artists who explore related topics from a different perspective.

Amrita Dhillon is one of the talented contributors who will share exhibition space at the conference. Born in New Delhi, India, she has studied art, art history and philosophy in New York and Berlin. Her work deals with the space between reality and imagination, often incorporating personal and found imagery, and weaving together her own memories of living in different countries and cultures.

The piece featured in the attached graphic is entitled Midnight Rider and is part of Dillon’s series ‘Carousel.’  The work shows experimentation with colour, shape and rhythm to explore a metaphor for the dream state. Figures caught in the rush of its movement straddle the line between ecstasy and nightmare.

Catch Dhillon and many other talented artists and performers in the art space at INSIGHT 2019!

Workshop Write Up:

In this fascinating pre-conference workshop, Prof. Dr. Med. Dipl-Psych Rolf Verres and Dr. Med. Andrea Jungaberle will tackle essential existential questions on death, the inevitability of our own end and the loss of those we love. The team will be joined online by Peter Gasser, who has conducted multiple studies on LSD assisted therapies in patients with life threatening diseases.

Bridging the gap between academic medicine and holistic approaches on death with a special emphasis on the psychedelic state and its possible learnings, the qualified facilitators will explore how the psychedelic experience can help us come to terms with our own mortality. This workshop is intended to inspire vivid discussions and exchanges both on the personal and professional level.

There is limited space, so make sure to get your ticket soon!

Workshop Reminder

To dive deeper into the INSIGHT 2019 experience, we offer a range of exciting pre-conference workshops.  These experiential workshops provide practical training, as well as opportunities for professional and personal exploration.  Geared towards a varied audience, they offer something to everyone including therapists, doctors, researchers and those interested and inspired by psychedelic research.

Explore methods such as immersive breathing, or professionally assess non-pharmacological interventions for changing ego-states; facilitators will combine first-person subjectivity with third-person objectivity for a wider perspective on the science-based psychedelic research field. The workshops are valuable to both those experienced with the psychedelic state and the newly curious.

The pre-conference workshops will take place the Thursday prior to the conference and must be separately.  CME accreditation for the workshops is on the way!

Art Space Update

We are happy to announce that the upcoming conference will have a truly artistic element to it. We will offer an immersive art space and exhibition on location, to provide an unforgettable creative experience for those of our attendees who want to use the breaks and in-between-time for exploration. These spaces are currently in development as the INSIGHT conference team discusses with a group of talented artists from Berlin’s HDK and the Berlin School of Mind-and-Brain as well as with musicians to add to the program.

INSIGHT 2019 will showcase artistic explorations that alter the perspective and explore psychedelic spaces through multiple different formats. There will be opportunities for self exploration, such as virtual reality demonstrations, bodily-illusions and of course the chance to experience Lucia N°03, the stroboscobic light device that is able to induce altered states of mind by rhythmical flashes of light.

Updates to follow as the space grows!

Speaker Shout-out: Dr. Katrin Preller

“We desperately need new drugs in psychiatry, so all of this work is important.”

We extend a warm welcome to Dr. Katrin Preller who will be presenting a keynote speech addressing the current gaps of knowledge on the subject of “The Neurobiology and Neuropharmacology of Psychedelic-Induced Altered States of Consciousness“.

Her previous research has used brain imaging methods to investigate the effects of psilocybin and LSD on self-perception and social cognition. If this peaks your interest, have a look at the article below, written about Preller’s fascinating work, and make sure to grab your INSIGHT 2019 conference ticket today!…/interviews/brain-lsd

Speaker Shout-out: Dr. Milan Scheidegger

We are excited to welcome Dr. Milan Scheidegger to the INSIGHT 2019 speaker roster. Scheidegger is currently a resident physician in Zurich where he researches the neurobiology and pharmacology of altered states of consciousness. He has also undergone several ethnobotanical expeditions to explore the traditional use of psychoactive plants in indigenous rituals and completed an M.A. in the history and philosophy of knowledge.

At the conference he will share a keynote presentation on the future of ayahuasca-assisted therapies and their indication of a paradigm shift towards a transformation-based therapy system. The adaptogenic effects of ayahuasca will be explored, along with future therapeutic frameworks as well as the challenges of intercultural knowledge transfer needed to move from indigenous contextual practise to clinical application.

If you’re curious to hear what Scheidegger and many other experts have to say on the topic, get your ticket at and have a look at this interview on…/integrating-ayahuasca-i…
