This introductory workshop provides an overview of core theoretical content and hands-on practices and methods of the MIND Integration Program BEYOND EXPERIENCE – a structured 5-days training that provides practical tools and a theoretical framework towards integrating experiences in altered states of consciousness including psychedelic states into everyday lives. The multi-modal approach includes harm reduction and self-development, while at the same time connecting with others and building community.
The BEYOND EXPERIENCE course is an ongoing research project. A team at the MIND Foundation – lead by Dr. med. Andrea Jungaberle – develops the first manualized, evidence-based psychedelic integration program. The team has finished five test runs (pilot workshops) in Berlin and Amsterdam (in German and English). A facilitator training is scheduled for May 6th-10th 2020. Until then at least five further BEYOND EXPERIENCE workshops will be facilitated – so that therapists who want be trained as facilitators of BEYOND EXPERIENCE can participate in the actual course (which is also a pre-condition for applying for the facilitator training in 2020).
Other formats under construction in the MIND Foundation integration program include the “Morning After Integration Circle” (brief format after ceremonies) and MIND Foundation Integration Game.
The pre-conference workshop facilitators are members of the MIND Foundation Integration Program team. They have provided the workshops in Amsterdam and will share their knowledge and experience with the pre-conference participants. This will provide a sound basis for assessing the qualities of BEYOND EXPERIENCE and the theories implemented in this course. The theoretical underpinning of BEYOND EXPERIENCE are the core principles of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
