Ana Yaiza Silva Colmenero is a Neuroscience with Psychology student at the University of Aberdeen. She previously obtained a BSc in Primary Education Teaching from the University of Salamanca. She is currently doing her Industrial Placement as part of the EPIsoDe Team, a Phase-II-study that investigates the safety and efficacy of psilocybin in TRD. With them, she is conducting her thesis project entitled “Does mindfulness predict the intensity of the psychedelic experience in treatment resistant depression?”. For the INSIGHT Conference, by the hand of Moritz Spangemacher, she presents a project focusing on the special cohort of subjects who do not experience acute psychedelic effects. Future projects include research on the influence of the endocrine system on altered states of consciousness, but she is also interested on the role of therapists in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy, and on Psychedelic Assisted Therapy for Substance Abuse Disorders.
