I am a research assistant and PhD candidate in cognitive neuroscience, currently working in the fields of altered states of consciousness, visual consciousness, neuroimaging and neurophenomenology. My scientific interests concern the study of the neural correlates of consciousness and its phenomenological expression, psychedelic research, psychedelic-induced visual phenomena and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Since 2019, I have been working as a research assistant and psychologist at the Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translational Research (CIBIT/ICNAS-UC), on the Bial Foundation-funded project, 252/18 “Spiritual states induced by Ayahuasca and the involvement of the reward system” – (among other collaborations). The results of my research and scientific collaborations have been published in high-impact journals as Frontiers in Pharmacology, PLoS ONE, and Consciousness and Cognition. |
