Zarmeen Zahid is a 4th year PhD candidate at the University of Wisconsin Madison in the labs of Dr. Matthew Banks and Dr. Cody Wenthur. Her work looks to uncover the role of synaptic plasticity in the therapeutic mechanism of action of serotonergic psychedelics. She is trained in various electrophysiological and pharmacological techniques with a background in human imaging. Zarmeen is passionate about both psychedelic neuroscience and science communication. She understands the importance of diversity in perspective and science accessibility for all and so is co-founder of the multi-media platform “Your Brain on Science”. This platform has a mission to make psychedelic science, policy, and culture accessible and understandable for all individuals.
