PHD Candidate

Felix Uhl, M.A.

Philipps University Marburg

Felix Uhl (M.A.) is currently preparing for a PHD program in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Philipps University Marburg. During his Master’s at the Goethe University Frankfurt, he has done research with the Huni Kuin, an indigenous people in Western Amazonia, focusing on their use of Ayahuasca as a resource to revitalize subjective and social bodies. Combining ethnographic methods and philosophical reasoning, he is working on the dynamics between subjects and their experiences on one hand, and sociocultural orders on the other. Together with Michael V. Kramer, he is a co-speaker of the Philosophy Professional Section of the Mind Members Association. In this function, he has organized a workshop on philosophical questions raised by psychedelic experiences at INSIGHT 2021, and worked with his section colleagues on the development of a podcast on the philosophy of psychedelics.
